My name is Vito Chiala...Top of Page
...and I am the principal at William C. Overfelt High School. On behalf of all of our teachers and staff, I welcome you to our Royal family. We are proud to provide a safe, supportive, and innovative learning environment.
In my more than 20 years at Overfelt, I have seen our school transform from what was always a good school into a school that strives to prepare every student to graduate ready for their futures which includes being ready for college. In that time we have made significant strides academically, with more and students taking the most challenging courses and heading off to colleges and universities upon graduation.

As we emerge from the pandemic in 2021, our goal of continuing to better meet the needs of each of our students and their families only becomes more critical.Top of Page
We have set the intention of embodying our community values and becoming an antiracist school, a place where students’ success is not predetermined by their race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, or gender. Overfelt will be a place where every student will be welcomed as they are. We will work hard to be a place where students' strengths and areas of growth will be understood and supported and where all adults will positively respond to the social-emotional and academic needs of students. Of course, we will continue to be a place where students are challenged academically and prepared for the future.
I encourage you to visit our campus, partner with our staff, and actively participate in making Overfelt an even better school. Together, we will work in solidarity to support our students as they learn and grow, not changing who they are but believing in their ability to shape the future.
